CLS/SBM - Annual Spring Conference

The Criminal Law Section's annual spring conference will be held remotely on Friday, June 2, from 9am-2pm. Learn about innovations and reforms in criminal law while sitting in the comfort of your own home or office. 

Michigan Supreme Court Justice Brian Zahra kicks off the program with a keynote address. Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton follows with a presentation on forward-thinking practices in corrections. Prosecutor Eli Savit will discuss his ideas for building a fairer system and innovations from Washtenaw County. District Court Judge Jeffrey Middleton will close the morning session with a discussion on bail reform. Following a short break, jury consultant and trial skills instructor Keeley Blanchard starts the afternoon session discussing the importance of attorney-conducted voir dire. State Senator Stephanie Chang closes the program.

This FREE program has been approved for up to 5 hours of continuing legal education credits towards MIDC Standard 1. In addition, Criminal Law Section members who register and attend all sessions are eligible for a drawing to win a legal book bundle valued at over $600!
