They thought they'd die in prison. Now they're juvenile justice advocates on a mission.

Michigan now has the largest population of children sentenced to life without parole. And Michigan's practice of continuing to sentence children to lifetime imprisonment puts it "increasingly out of step with other states," as 28 states now ban these sentences.
