Join Michigan’s State Appellate Defender Office (SADO) as an Assistant Defender in the Juvenile Lifer Unit (JLU)! The Juvenile Lifer Unit advocates for people who are serving unconstitutionally cruel and unusual life without parole sentences for crimes committed as youth and who are now entitled to resentencing hearings. This position is for either the Detroit or Lansing office; read the full job posting here.
This is a full-time temporary position with funding guaranteed through September 30, 2027. Continuation of this position after that date depends on state budget allocation and staffing needs.
