The State Bar of Michigan Prisons & Corrections Section presents Trauma & Trauma Care Before, During, & After Incarceration, a training event, Saturday, June 1, 2019 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., in Lansing, MI. Attendees will hear from doctors, social workers, corrections administration, and formerly incarcerated individuals about how trauma impacts people affected by the criminal justice system and what is being done about it.
Presenters and panelists include: Dr. Sheryl Kubiak, Wayne State University; Dr. Daphne Watkins, University of Michigan; Dr. Jennifer Johnson, Michigan State University; Leon El-Alamin, M.A.D.E. Institute; Lia Gulick, Michigan Department of Corrections; Dr. Debra Pinals, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services; Dr. Sheryl Kubiak, Wayne State University; and formerly incarcerated individuals Aurelio Dorris-Bey, Darryl Woods, and Jennifer Pruitt.
