Mail Theft Prohibited Under State Law
PA 48 and 49 (SB 23 and SB 24, effective December 16, 2019) creates the Mail and Mail Depository Protection Act, prohibits the theft of mail or the contents of mail, and amends MCL 777.14h to establish sentencing guidelines for the theft of mail. The Governor signed the legislation on September 17, 2019.

Allow Set-Aside for Certain Convictions
HB 4981 and related bills would amend various statutes to allow certain convictions (including certain traffic and marijuana convictions) and to modify the procedure and requirements for convictions set-asides. The bills were introduced in the House on September 17, 2019.
Modify Description of Armed Robbery
SB 533 would amend MCL 750.529 to modify and clarify the description of armed robbery. The bill was introduced in the Senate on September 19, 2019.
