Jennifer J. France, Chief Public Defender, Chippewa County, secured a favorable deal for her client February 6, 2020. Ms. France’s client, who had several priors and was facing potential habitual fourth sentencing for a drug case and parole violation consequences, instead received – with the agreement of the prosecution and the parole agent – a 12-month jail sentence.
Michael A. Faraone was able to get his client’s guilty plea set aside in Grand Haven.
Jonathan B. D. Simon, in the 3rd Judicial
(Wayne County) Circuit Court, won suppression and then dismissal of a CCW case, February 13, 2020.
Dionne Webster-Cox won not guilty verdicts in the 3rd Judicial (Wayne County) Circuit Court in a case with four counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and two counts of domestic violence.
Sharon Clark Woodside, and Kathy Murphy as second chair, in the 3rd Judicial (Wayne County) Circuit Court, won directed verdicts of acquittal in a bench trial in a case with charges of first-degree felony murder and multiple counts of child abuse.
Michael Lamb won a not guilty verdict February 19, 2020, in a case charging felonious assault.
Matthew Evans won not guilty verdicts February 27, 2020, in the 3rd Judicial (Wayne County) Circuit Court, in a case involving multiple charged-felonies, including CSC 1 and armed robbery.
