SADO and MAACS Annual Orientation and Training Underway
SADO's Criminal Defense Resource Center, in partnership with the Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System (MAACS), invite court-appointed appellate attorneys to this year's fall orientation and training.
On October 6 and November 9, 2021, new MAACS and SADO attorneys will receive an orientation covering topics such as minimum standards, plea appeal deadlines, sentencing guidelines, assignment processes, issue spotting, client communication, and more. Agenda here.
On October 7, 15, 21, and 22, 2021, MAACS and SADO will have the opportunity to attend over 19.5 complimentary hours of CLE on topics ranging from forensic science, race and the 4th amendment, ethics, cell phones, secondary trauma, preparing for the PSIR interview, sentencing advocacy, writing, caselaw updates, post-conviction remedies, cultural competency, and more.
