We are Hiring a Part-Time General Clerk

General Clerk
State government law office representing indigent criminal defendants on appeal has an opening for an entry-level, part-time General Clerk to work in its Detroit office Monday through Friday from 1:00-5:00 PM daily.
Job Duties:
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail
- Scanning files and large volumes of documents
- Answering phones
- Greeting office visitors
- Processing closed files
- Data entry
- Stocking supplies
Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Previous clerical experience is desirable, including dealing with the public
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and general office equipment
- Attention to detail, strong organization and prioritization skills, and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others
- Dependability and punctuality are required
Pay and Benefits:
The starting pay is $16.50 per hour. No healthcare benefits are available with this part-time position, but part-time employees do receive paid vacation, sick leave, 12 paid holidays, life insurance and a 401k.
